The school's Special Educational Needs Policy is based on the philosophy that all children are of equal worth and have an entitlement to the full range of curricular experiences and opportunities. There is a named co-ordinator for Special Educational Needs, Caroline Butler, who has responsibility for the support programmes for pupils who need some additional or alternative provision.

Many children at some time during their school life will experience difficulties which require additional support.

For some children the problem may be short lived whilst others may need long term support.

Our staff have experience of working with pupils with a range of disabilities but, have a particular specialism in working with students who have Specific Learning Difficulties (eg dyslexia) and pupils on the Autistic Spectrum.

The school believes in working in close partnership with parents to achieve our aims of supporting children.
