Key Stage 2
Primary School children sometimes receive French and Spanish lessons from Blue Coat via video-conferencing.  In the future we also involve older students in year 10 to work for a Young Sports Leaders Award and help deliver primary school languages.

Key Stage 3
Year7:  All pupils study German using Logo 1 during 4 lessons per fortnight.
Year 8:  All pupils continue with German and also begin to learn French for 1
lesson per fortnight using Logo 2.

Key Stage 4
In year 9,10 and 11 all students continue to study a language up to GCSE. They can study either French or German or do both. We currently enter students for the Edexcel examination but intend to enter them for the A9A examination.

Key Stage 5
Every year we have students studying both French and German at AS and A2 level, following 'Edexcel for AS French', 'Edexcel for A2 French' and ‘Zeitgeist’. We enter students for the Edexcel examination.

Certificate of Business Language Competence:
This is a qualification well recognized in the business world by companies such as British Airways, Ryan Air etc. We have offered this in the past in year 12 at entry level in Spanish. We would like to be able to offer this again in the future and also to offer it in different languages such as French, German, Italian etc. It is particularly suited to those students who do not want to become specialists in languages but would like to have a business language qualification to complement their other subjects.
Extra-curricular.
• In year 8 students sometimes have the opportunity to participate in a day trip to France.
• In year 9 students have the opportunity to visit Disneyland Paris.
• In year 10 students have the opportunity to spend 4 days in Germany in the Rhineland.
• In year 12 AS level German students are expected to participate in a 2 week work-experience programme in Munich.
• In year 12 AS level French students are encouraged to spend 1 week on work experience in France.
